a different Jesus...
Several years ago the exalted Christ hi-jacked my heart and set me on a course of discovery that has been both wonderful and disconcerting. In gentleness He revealed how I'd placed myself at the center of even my loftiest thoughts of Him. To my dismay I realized that the Jesus I knew so well had been crafted not through the grid of who He was, but of what He’s done for me --how He feels about me, what He wants to give me, why I matter to Him and on and on.
But a different Jesus beckoned from afar, enticing me with His transcendent beauty until I knew that I had to leave myself behind if I wanted to find Him in truth.
Perhaps He is calling you as well. If so, I pray these devotionals might serve as a tour guide, leading the way, pointing out the sights and sounds of a Jesus who’s been in the shadows of faith for far too long.
