Day One · Jesus
Pause
Take a few moments to grow still before God.
Quiet the noise within and around you.
Offer Him your full attention—heart, mind, and body.
Today we linger on the name of Jesus--
humble, yet exalted,
why it matters,
how it changes us.

Prefer to listen? Take a quiet moment and press play below.
Around the year 200 AD, a young mother named Perpetua
faced death in the Roman colosseum.
Her crime?
Boldly proclaiming the name of Jesus.
Though family and friends begged her to recant,
this early Christian martyr refused,
and instead met her untimely death
with joy on her face.
What is it about the name of Jesus that
has stirred such courage for centuries?
In ancient Hebrew culture,
names shaped a person’s destiny.
They were purposeful,
declaring who a person would become--
a sacred trust they were born to fulfill.
The name Jesus, means Yahweh is salvation,
encapsulating God's long-awaited promise--
of liberation, wholeness, identity,
a renewed relationship with Him,
and so much more.
There has never been another name like it--
nor will there ever be.
he did not think of equality with God
as something to cling to.
Instead, he gave up his divine privileges.
He took the humble position of a slave
and was born as a human being.
When he appeared in human form,
he humbled himself in obedience to God
and died a criminal’s death on a cross.
Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor
and gave him the name above all other names,
that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
and every tongue declare that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father.
— Philippians 2:6–11
In tender humility,
Jesus fulfilled His destiny
by obeying His Father
and becoming a servant
to die for our sins.
Now He is elevated to highest honor
and in His exaltation,
our salvation is complete:
Read the passage again, listening for
a word,
an image,
or a phrase
that captures your heart.
Hold this gently
as you reflect on its significance
in quiet reverence.
Jesus… Yahweh is salvation--
what we could never do,
He has done,
satisfying the sacred trust inherent in His name.
Pray
The name of Jesus is a precious jewel--
a treasure reminding us
of all we’ve been saved from…
and all we’ve been saved for.
What might it look like to live
with passion to exalt His name--
the name that chose humility for you?
Quietly turn Philippians 2:9 into a prayer:
Jesus,
You are in the place of highest honor.
Your name is above every other name.
I bow before You now.
I confess you are Lord.
Let your glory shine in me and through me.
Amen
If it feels meaningful,
repeat the prayer aloud.
Practicing Worship
Let the name of Jesus be on your lips
as you hold your heart before Him.
If your mind wanders,
Inhale, saying softly: Jesus.
Exhale, saying gently: Your name is exalted.
Bring all that you are,
to all that He is.
Worship Jesus, Name above all names.
When you are ready,
