Day Two · God

Pause

Jesus, the risen One--
alive, present, and reigning--
proclaims:

“Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth.”

Psalm 46:10

Calm your body and mind.
Let your shoulders drop.
Breathe deeply.
Be still.
Know He is God.

Hear Him saying:
I will be exalted.

Ponder

Prefer to listen? Take a quiet moment and press play below.

Exiled on a small island,
Jesus’ beloved disciple carried the
quiet ache of separation--
from the people and places he loved.

One morning, before the sun had fully risen,
he walked along the shore.
Suddenly a sound
shattered the silence.
Nothing could have prepared John for what came next.

When I turned to see who was speaking to me,
I saw seven gold lampstands.
And standing in the middle of the lampstands was someone like the Son of Man.
He was wearing a long robe with a gold sash across his chest.
His head and his hair were white like wool, as white as snow.
And his eyes were like flames of fire...
and his voice thundered like mighty ocean waves...
his face was like the sun in all its brilliance.
When I saw him, I fell at his feet as if I were dead.

Revelation 1:12–17 (selected)

This was not
the familiar Jesus of Galilee.
This was the exalted Christ--
radiant, blazing,
uncontainable in glory.

How acquainted are you with this Jesus?

Quietly read the passage again.

As you picture this scene,
look for
a word,
an image,
or a phrase
that stands out or lingers.

Notice what rises in your heart.
Gently hold it before Christ.

What might He be showing you?
What is His invitation in this moment?

Pray

John’s encounter did not end in fear.
The exalted Christ
came near
and touched him, saying:

“Don’t be afraid.
I am the First and the Last.
I am the Living One.”

What might shift in your world
through a vision of Christ’s greatness?

Jesus--
I long to see You
majestic in splendor:
eyes like fire,
face shining like the sun.

Let me hear Your voice--
like many waters--
yet tenderly calling:
“Don’t be afraid.
I am the First and the Last.
I am the Living One.”

Amen

Practicing Worship

Wait reverently in God’s presence for a few moments.

If your mind wanders, whisper:
“Jesus, You are the First and the Last, the Living One.”

Let the awe of this fill your day:
Jesus, who draws near in love,
is the One
who has always been
and always will be.

Worship God.

When you are ready,
