Day Five · Holy One
Pause
Calm your thoughts.
Let them settle… stored for later.
Breathe deeply.
Hear the question:
“To whom will you compare me?
Who is my equal?” says the Holy One.
Isaiah 40:25
Let the quiet become sacred
as you turn your attention to Jesus--
the Holy One.

Throughout Scripture,
when something is spoken again and again,
it is not by accident.
It is a summons:
Pay attention.
This matters.
And in heaven,
there is one word
that never ceases…
and I saw a throne in heaven and someone sitting on it...
From the throne came flashes of lightning and the rumble of thunder...
In the center and around the throne were four living beings...
Day after day and night after night they keep on saying,
“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God, the Almighty--
the one who always was, who is, and who is still to come.”
Revelation 4:1-8 (selected)
This is not distant worship.
This is the reality of heaven now.
And the One on the throne--
the One they cannot stop proclaiming—
is Jesus,
the Holy One.
Set apart.
Uncreated.
Unmatched.
Unlike anything
or anyone else.
His goodness does not rise and fall.
It is always good.
Perfectly good.
His mercy does not waver.
It endures—because it is holy mercy.
His greatness does not diminish.
It is unsurpassable—because it is holy greatness.
Read the passage again, looking for
a word,
a phrase,
or an image
that arrests your heart.
Hold it gently in the presence
of the Holy One.
What is He inviting you to grasp?
How is He drawing you to His holiness?
Pray
Here is the wonder:
The Holy One does not remain distant.
He calls.
He woos.
He makes us His own.
Not because of what we have done--
but because of who He is,
because of how He loves.
Holy love.
Jesus, Holy One--
There is no one like You.
And yet… You have called me Your own.
Let my life reflect
the beauty of Your holiness.
Draw my heart again
into awe…
into wonder…
into worship.
Amen.
Practice
Our longing for something beyond ourselves--
for beauty,
for mystery,
for transcendence--
finds its fulfillment in Him.
Even now, if we could quiet the noise around us,
we might hear it—
The sound of heaven--
rising around the throne
of the exalted Christ:
Holy… Holy… Holy…
Wait here in reverent wonder.
If your mind wanders,
breathe in:
Holy, holy, holy…
And breathe out:
Holy is Your Name.
Worship Jesus in the splendor of holiness.
When you are ready,
