Day Four · Alpha and Omega

Pause

Enter this holy space with
gentle reverence.

Let the cares of the day fade
into the background.

Quiet your mind.
Still your body with
a few deep breaths.

Jesus is here.
Receive Him.

Ponder

Prefer to listen? Take a quiet moment and press play below.

In our humanness,
we experience life as
a series of beginnings
and endings.

But here is a mystery
beyond comprehension.

There is only One,
who has always been--
who will always be.

Jesus—Alpha and Omega.
Before the first moment…
and beyond the final breath.

He alone holds sway
over the times and seasons--
of our lives and of this world.

I heard a loud shout from the throne, saying,
“Look, God’s home is now among his people!
He will live with them, and they will be his people.
God himself will be with them.
He will wipe every tear from their eyes,
and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain.
All these things are gone forever.”
And the one sitting on the throne said,
“Look, I am making everything new!”
And then he said to me, “Write this down,
for what I tell you is trustworthy and true.”
And he also said, “It is finished!
I am the Alpha and the Omega--
the Beginning and the End.
To all who are thirsty
I will give freely from the springs
of the water of life.
Revelation 21:3–6

See the throne,
and the One who sits on it.

Hear the shout
and the beauty
of what is spoken.

Take in the wonder.

God, who created time and space--
not bound by either.

The end of all things…
and the beginning of what will never end.

Read the passage again, looking for
a word,
an image,
or a phrase
that stays with you—that lingers.

Imagine this moment beyond time.
Reflect on what has been revealed to you.

Hear the words of
Alpha and Omega--
trustworthy and true.

Taking sorrow and tears,
making all things new.

Pray

He who is the beginning
and who is the end
invites you to come
and drink--
from springs of the water of life.

Jesus,
In the sands of time,
I am barely a grain.

You are Alpha
and Omega,
yet you welcome me in.

There has never been,
nor will there ever be
another like you.

Let me drink freely
from Your springs.

Make my life a praise
that reflects your
matchless worth.

Amen.

Practicing Worship

A day is coming,
when time will be no more.

We too will kneel before Jesus
who makes His home among us.

But now, in this holy moment,
we can join the chorus of heaven
in adoration before Him.

Worship Jesus,
Alpha and Omega,
Beginning and End.

When you are ready,
