Day Three· Learning His Gentle Blessing
Pause
Breathe slowly—three quiet breaths.
Inhale God’s tender care.
Exhale the distractions of the day.
Jesus is here.
A loving Father, He lifts you up,
and the cares of the day begin to fade.
He is delighted you are here.
(Continue quietly, resting in His love for a few moments.)
Ponder
Prefer to listen? Take a quiet moment and press play below.
Being childlike has never come easy for me. Not only does my DNA scream ACHIEVE! but my most formative years were spent competing with four other siblings for attention.
For decades this wreaked havoc with my grasp of grace. It’s hard to receive a gift you’re working hard to earn.
Jesus’ invitation is deceivingly simple: Come as a child.
No pretense.
No measuring up.
No comparison.
Just freedom and naive wonder—eager, expectant, ready to be blessed.
Read the following verses slowly...thoughtfully.
But the disciples scolded the parents for bothering him.
Jesus said, Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them!
For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children.
And he placed his hands on their heads and blessed them.
Matthew 19:13–15
Read the passage again—out loud if possible.
As you sit with these words, notice what draws your attention.
Do not rush to understand or explain.
Gently ponder:
- What do you notice about the heart of Jesus here?
- What feels most personal or tender today?
- Where do you sense invitation rather than demand?
Allow a word, phrase, or image to linger.
Pray
Jesus,
You are never rushed.
You welcome me as a child.
You take time.
You bless.
I bring You my hopes, my fears, and my longings.
Teach me to come to You with trust.
Let me hear Your voice as You bless me.
(Sit quietly. Remain in stillness.)
Practice
As you move into the day ahead, carry one word or phrase from this passage with you.
You might return to it as you fulfill commitments,
help others,
or pause in gratitude.
Let it remind you that learning from Jesus means coming as a child and receiving His blessing.
No great effort is needed today--
only childlike wonder.
Learning from Jesus is being held.
